What is Tame The Imp?
It's a weekly challenge where you track a spending category of your choice, reply to a daily text, and grow a virtual garden as you build better money habits.
How do I join?
Sign up by clicking the 'Pay Imp Toll' button and entering the details for your challenge preferences. The challenge starts on the upcoming Monday. You'll receive daily texts to check in on your spending once the challenge starts.
How do I win?
You win by doing two things:
- Reply to every daily text
- Spend less than your personal benchmark

Winning means that:
- You get your Imp Toll back
- Your garden continues to grow
How do I lose?
You lose if:
- You miss replying to a daily text
- You spend more than your personal benchmark

If either of the loss conditions are met, The Imp keeps your toll.

But don't fret! Even if you spend more than your personal benchmark, as long as you reply every day your plants will not wither.
What do I need to do each day?
For one week, we text you each day asking how much you spent in the challenge category (like Food Delivery). You reply with a number - that's it.
How does the garden work?
Every daily reply:
- Grows your existing plants
- Adds a new baby plant or creature (once your garden is fully healthy)

Your garden is updated and visualized for you every day. You’ll receive a link to view your garden when you respond to daily check-in texts.

You can exchange plants in your garden for rewards.

Your garden persists across weekly challenges and grows over time.
How does exchanging plants work?
Plants in your garden can be exchanged for rewards.

 View the types of available rewards, exchange eligibility, and exchange instructions by tapping on the rewards chest. You can also see the rewards you've received in the rewards chest.

 When you exchange plants, they are removed from your garden and you receive your reward.

Exchanges cannot be undone once completed.
What happens if I don't reply for a day?
The Imp keeps your toll and one of your plants withers.

Reply the next day and one withered plant becomes healthy again. No new plants appear until the entire garden is unwithered.
What happens if I overspend my benchmark?
The Imp keeps your toll and also steals one thing from your garden - healthy or withered. But you still stay in the challenge and continue growing your garden as long as you reply every day.
Can I quit mid-challenge?
Yes. Reply STOP at any time.
